I listen this type of music therefore I am better than you....
I've noticed alot of music listeners (mostly teens and sadly, alot of adults) judge other people based on their taste in music...and alot of it is seen in the SG board community. It's actually pretty annoying and everytime I see people debate about what kind of music or arits is the best...I just want to say...."SHUSH!"
a few examples of things that I've heard:
"oh, you isten to Brtney? You are soooo gay!"
"oh, you listen to linkin park? they suck! and so do the millions and millions of people who actually buy their CDs."
"oh, green day is for sell outs. the REAL PUNK bands are in my collection."
seriously...I know some people look to music for inspiration, asosciation, and passion, but why can't they just leave it at that? Why do they actually have to care what other people listen to and hate them for it? It's so freaking petty....and normally, I wouldn't care but it's in front of my eyes and ears almost every other day so.....I can't help but think about it.
I just have to say that every successful musician has their merits (except for ashlee simpson)...and the only reasons I can understand people for not liking certain artisits is..."It's not my kind of music or I'mjust sick of listening to it everyday"......Atleast then is it more understandable than someone just saying..."oh, i hate good charlotte because they just suck." because that is soooo insightful.
anyways.....I dont listen to too much music anymore, atleast none that I understand the lyrics 2......and I prefer funny radio talk shows...and I don't mean howard stern. He's anything but funny to me..but I'm sure if I was the typical homophobic douchebag who thinks the drunken angry dwarf actually enjoyed his life....then maybe I would.
anyways....next saturday!.....she owes me a date.
