Ok, so it's been a while, and I'm still alive and kicking. I was an emotional mess for a few weeks, but I seem to have calmed down a little bit. On the upside, we've hired someone new at work who I think is going to work out well, and I've had more time to devote to nerding out, working on music, etc. I've even picked up a new instrument, the ukulele - don't laugh, it's a lot of fun. Playing ukulele at a party is like playing guitar without the preassure. It's cool.

I finally figured out how to get my sound recording software to multitrack properly. After doing some cursory research, I discovered that I had to fuck around with my sound card in order to be able to listen to playback while recording a discrete new track. Simple, yes - but it was something that had been frustrating me for a while. Now if i can only get the instruments to have a reasonable sound while recording, I'll be all set.

So here I am on the tail end of a 4 day weekend (I took today off) , trying to figure out what to do with myself. I'm mildy hung over from the mix of drinks I had at last night's 4th of july barbequeue. Options:

1. sit on my ass, and fuck around with recording software
2. drive up and check out pololu valley, scouting for camp sites
3. surf, then sit on my ass

The ass sitting is appealing, but I may feel differently after a shower.
