Wow, drunk and stumbing around Honolulu last night. I love this town. We treid to start off at the Halekulani ( I think that was in an Adam Sandler move or something recently for those not familiar with the islands ), but were told there was an hour wait for a table. Wacky stuff - I guess that's what we get for havinga lot of people and no researvations.

So, instead, we ended up at the Mai Tai bar at the Royal Hawaiian, where there were a bunch of retirees line dancing to synth-pseudo-Hawaiian music. Very, very creepy. Still, the drinks were good, and you can't beat boozing it up on a clear night with a good view of the beach.

After that, it was off to Brew Moon, for more drinks and some jazz. The only problem with this town is that the scene is a little...sporadic. You kind of have to get into the tiki lounge vibe to have a good time most nights. Still good to see all of the friends and stuff before I go back to the Big Island, and resume my techno-hermit life. Hopefully my stuff is still there when I get back - haven't been able to get to my house network for a couple of days now...Ah well at least I'll have a big renters insurance settlement check, and I have the powerbook with me.
