Well it seems my mom decided to move to New York. I really do think this is best for her. I have a sister, 2 brothers, their families plus various aunts, uncles and cousins all within a 5-mile radius out there. Here it's just me and I have an aunt and uncle about 2 hours away. I think it's for the best that she goes. There is a much larger support base for her there. People to watch over her and make sure she's doing what she needs to do to take care of herself. I'd much rather her be out there and alive than out here with a few years left, which is what will happen if she stays out here with all the stress. I know one of the contributing factors is that her sister is dying of cancer. She should be there with her sister. I'm going to be taking over her mobile home. It's almost paid off and space rent is around $700 a month with utilities. I can swing it, it'll be tight, but I can do it. There is a room I can rent out if I need to, so far Jami is the first choice. She's one of the few friends I have that works full time, is (somewhat tongue) responsible, and is looking to relocate soon. I thought about Elton, but he's living off of student loans and grants while he is attending college. I'd prefer to have someone more stable. Jami and I have always gotten along. I can't think of any time we had a major disagreement about anything.
So her going to NY has greatly reduced the stress in my life. Only major problem I'm having now is planning menus for my mom. She needs to get her blood pressure and her sodium down. She's also diabetic. I have no idea what to feed her. She's been eating lots of turkey and chicken. She doesn't like seafood. At the store I can find stuff low in sodium but high in fat, or low in fat but high in sodium. It's just a matter of balancing it out I guess.
So there you go.
