They say history is written by the victors, and nowhere is that more true than in the realm of religion. Monotheism has been the dominant western philosophy for a few thousand years, which explains in part why polytheistic religions are lumped together under a condescending umbrella called "mythology." Strict Catholicism isn't really monotheistic anyway - explain why the Ten... Read More
The working title for the book is "The Apple," although that may change as my "agent" (if that's the right word) thinks it lacks pizzazz (I suppose I could call it "Forbidden Fruit," he'd probably like that better). He is supposed to be shopping the book to some movie studios but I am not convinced this is shopping as I understand it. If anyone is or knows a literary agent, give me a call! Thanks for asking, by the way.
For what it's worth, I like "The Apple." A lot. But I have an affinity for that stuff... and am currently planning a tattoo based on the theme of The Apple... so I'm a bit biased. I like that it is subtler than Forbidden Fruit, but still has the same implications.
Someone sweet here asked for a pic of me all dressed up, and I thought, "how ironic, a SuicideGirl asking a guy to get dressed up - isn't that the reverse of normal?" And then I thought, "is that another misuse of the word 'ironic' like that Alanis Morisssette song?" And then I thought, "who gives a shit," which is when I got around to... Read More
In 1973 Paul Simon released his second solo album, including a track entitled "American Tune." This was a very difficult period of modern American history - the US was into the 8th year of the Viet Nam War, which seemed like it would never end. There were nearly 60,000 Americans dead by that time and over 350,000 American casualties. President Nixon's administration was starting to... Read More
I wade into a discussion on God and man in another blog:
Well THAT is a whole topic unto itself, now isn't it? People's views on God and the hereafter always interest me, probably because I don't subscribe myself to any religious meaning to God. John Lennon once said that God is a concept through which we measure our... Read More
I think it's important to have faith in something, but I don't mean it only in a religious sense. You believe in God? Nice, if that makes you happy. You don't? You prefer having faith in the human being other than a supernatural entity? That's fine. Lately, I've been considering that, I don't care what other people's beliefs are as long as they respect each other.
wait...hold the phone...your dog will sit for you? if mitra did that without me having to say it five times it would be proof positive of god and i would run out immediately and become a nun.
Yeah, I know another post on politics. For someone who doesn't give a shit I seem to be wasting a little too much of your (and my) time. Be that as it may, let me get this straight - before we were being told what we thought and who we were going to vote for based solely on what we read in the papers and... Read More
Haha, Thanks for the comment! It is nice to hear someone side with me!
Yeah, he has always been insecure. We actually broke up for awhile because I couldn't stand him anymore... By that I mean I couldn't take his acting that way! But overall, I love the guy, we have known each other forever and wanted to be together. Last time we broke up, he started sayin how he had changed after awhile (after watching one of his friends with her jealous boyfriend and seeing what a dumb guy that guy was). And he was really awesome and a lot better, more trusting of me and less jealous. But lately he has been falling into familiar patterns... And this outburst. I am so frustrated. Cause like you said, either way sucks, I either I have to give up someone I love or things that I love... SO it just sucks.
But thanks for the advice and support!
And I am not American, but it will be interesting, to say the least, to see who gets voted in this year.....
I find it so quaint that citizens of the United States, usually so cynical, bored, comatose and/or obsessed with pretty much anything trivial, awaken every four years or so from their ruminations on what's left inside Britney's head and what the hell is ON Donald Trump's head, to concentrate (to the degree they can) on the election of a President. Of course what really transpires... Read More
Cheyenne's right - we are being deluded into thinking we're still a republic rather than being deluded into thinking we're still a democracy! As for Trump Wig (I love how everything he builds has to have "Trump" in its title - the Trump Toxic Waste Disposal Station!), I know it looks like a tribble, but consider: The tribble's trilling noise seems to produce a tranquilizing effect on the human nervous system. Any utterance by or remotely associated with Trump (better known as a "Trump Utterance") elicits exactly the opposite response. Indeed, Trump most closely resembles a Denebian slime devil (and that's the last Star Trek reference I'm going to give you - thanks to the Internet Movie Database).
It's funny you should ask, I had just found out I was pregnant when I posted that I shot the set in Hawaii (where I got pregnant LOL) I just submitted a new set, I think it's fab, I am hiding my belly but if it goes live (even if it dont, I will submit it for second chance) see if you can tell I am 6 months pregnant in that set, it's kind of funny I think you can't see it, I wonder what others think. The set is pending now :-) keep your fingers crossed.
