so, let's go over my rather... eventful friday, shall we?
bad event #1
meaning to wake up at 0830 to have breakfast with the crew, i find myself waking at 1143 with a terrible headache and morning sickness (why am i acting like i'm pregnant?)
bad event #2
after a shower, i head over to the sink to brush my teeth and put in my contacts. contact #1 goes on with surprisingly little effort. #2, however, is torn halfway through.
bad event #3
grabbing my spare glasses, which are broke (see image below), i head over to my girl angel's house to hang out, but cleaning basically cuts our hang out time to 10 minutes.
random good samaritan event #1
on my way to pick up a mapquest printout i forgot at home, i stop traffic to help a duck and her ducklings get across the street. i had to chase after three that couldn't jump the curb, pick them up to place them on the grass, and nudge them in the general direction of their mom (they found her quickly and safely)
bad event #4
i get home to pick up the map and my dad to take him to his client. he doesn't have to go and my map is nowhere to be found. 'net is down for 30 minutes before i fix the problem and print out the new map.
bad event #5
about to leave my 'hood, i decide it'd be better to wear my glasses rather than my friend's contacts (i dropped by his place to get his spare pair since his perscription is close to mine. technically, though, his eyes are better so they only helped a bit). pulling over i take his out and put them into the contact case i brought. picking up my glasses, they broke again (see image below). driving home fairly blind, i "repair" them with masking tape.
random good samaritan event #2
on my way down to chicago, i see a man with a broken down sports car in the center lane of I-355, delaying/getting in the way of traffic. i pull over to the shoulder, and help the guy push the car to the side. with no jumper cables, i opt to chill with the guy and gossip until the AAA guy arrives. the guy's got some interesting theories/philosophies.
bad event #6
i get to chicago, find a park spot, and try to change back into my contacts. low and behold, my original contact was swimming with the one of the others. if you didn't already know this, when contacts are with each other, they fuse. that was... annoying.
bad event #7
finally make it to sonotheque, half blind i might add (opting to go with one contact rather the the ghetto specks), but i'm about two hours early, chat it up with the owner(?) only to (a) find out at 2100, only those 21 years of age are allowed in, and (b) have him discover i'm only 20.
bad event #8
after waiting outside for an hour, inside for another (before getting kicked out at 2100), i finally get the chance to meet ari suicide (she was hosting the deal tonight, i think). but alas, i choke. i see her get out of a cab with some mates, and stroll towards sonotheque. i get a couple feet away and somehow lose the ability to say "hey," "hello," or anything for that matter. she goes inside and i can't... yay... go knifemonkey...
bad event #9
i missed my bloody exit going home
bad event #10
hoping to salvage the night, i head to the local bowling establishment where my crew hangs out every wednesday and friday night. i get to see them for 15 minutes before they all scatter to their homes and whatnot for the night. (angel tried particularly hard, though, to cheer me up by giving me all her attention, talking and whatnot. that was nice)
so, 15 hours, 10 irrating events, and a quarter tank of gas later, i'm finally home. and strangely enough, through most of it i stayed optimistic that the day had to get better, was pleasant with everyone i met, and i even joked around with God, scolding Him for picking on me today. there was someone who cheered me up a bit when i got home, though.
who, do you ask, brightened up my rather unpleasant evening?
g'night folks.
