my friend Amber from Chicago is in town to visit this weekend. picked her up at the airport on thursday night, we ate some boomers and had a blast.
friday we went to irezumi and got matching tats, the twin soul design she made...since i've known her, our lives have corresponded almost to the exact trivial event. used to be weird, but its so common now that its almost expected. we're not "soul mates" - we discovered early on that we weren't meant to be lovers, but twin souls...we recognize that we are kin. that night we just chilled at my place, i made dinner and then we hung out with my friend cody.
saturday we went to lawrence, ate at teller's, then went to the granada to hang out in front and say howdy to Mara, who was going to the alkaline trio show with her sister and their boyfriends...was kind of relieved when she told me she was kinda dating someone...brought closure to this weird feeling i've been having. now i can let her go and be a youngster. if she returns to me, fantastic, if not, then i'm still happy that i didn't steal her from the world... ANYWAY, we hung out there till after the show started but never saw her, so we went to the bottleneck and saw a couple of mediocre pop bands, met up with my friend Rob and drank too much screaming eagle energy drink....
today we went to the Kemper Art Museum, which is more like a large, interesting lobby to Cafe Sebastienne... the food was awesome, the museum is free. it was ok. been a good weekend. i've done some incredible spending, but that's ok...tomorrow i take her back to the airport and normality resumes for both of us.
