Mixed mood for me right no. Some good things going on, some things not so great.

I got my first hangover yesterday, thanks to Yellowtail's Reisling wine and my first boyfriend's graduation party. He'll be leaving for New York soon, and I'll probably never see him again. It makes me sad, because we were good friends, and we had a lot of good times. He has always meant a lot to me. But it sounds like he'll have a good job as a Master Electrician for the company, so I'm also very happy for him. But my neck still aches from the hangover. =/

Life is starting to settle down - it doesn't look as though I'll be moving anywhere, even to Sioux Falls, so that's nice. With luck, I'll be able to start unpacking all the stuff I never unpacked when Nick moved in. I'm sure it will make me feel a lot more settled. But Nick has a job lined up at a factory via a temp agency and he starts on Tuesday, so we're hoping that works out well for him. He's been feeling pretty depressed about the results of this summer for the past few weeks, so things have been pretty rough on us, so this is a nice change. Things are looking up, and that makes me happy.

Another close friend of mine is going through some rough times right now. She's afraid she's pregnant, and while she's taken Plan B and was warned that this could happen, she's still a bit nervous that her period is a week late. I'm not much of a praying man, but science can only console you so far, so I'm just holding my breath until she calls me in the next few days and fills me in.

But Nick is starting to look at directing another show, which is very very exciting. Because he's doing things all out-of-pocket, he's looking at public domain works, and is now contemplating doing his own adaptation of Bride of the Monster. So tonight or tomorrow night he and I will probably be watching it and working on getting a transcript so he has something to work on. This could also conceivably help me add a Dramaturg credit to my resume, as well, based on how much I do for this. And, with luck, he'll be able to direct for the Brookings Community Theatre early next year when they do The Odd Couple.

He and I are going to go see Halloween this afternoon. I'm excited, because I love Brad Dourif, and Nick loves horror movies, so this should be fun.

Fuuuuck, though, my neck hurts...

EDIT: Halloween was great. I enjoyed it a lot, though I must say I've never seen the original. But Nick liked it too, so don't let my n00bness deter you from seeing it. Yay Rob Zombie! Also, my neck no longer hurts.

I know I'm behind the times and all, but...

nice profile pics. hangover's are apparently part of life's rich tapestry that try and educate us not to drink lots. I'm not convinced myself, and I've managed not to learn that lesson so far.

fingers crossed plan b has worked for your friend.
