I hate it when the weekends are boring. It makes me want to spend money.
Ok, it's isn't totally the weekend's fault. This wouldn't be so bad if my damn' Harvest Moon disc hadn't gotten scratched. I'm at the start of a new day halfway through the third year, and it goes to the loading screen and stays there. A part of me thinks I should start a new game, but the other part says FUCK THAT SHIT! I've started to make that damn' farm fucking awesome! Anyone know if those dvd repair machine thingies are any good?

I've also had a damnable time trying to make the demo for Overlord work - I eventually gave up on it yesterday, after trying all day Friday. I got all the .dll files I was missing, got it to almost run once, and then it crashes the second I try to open it. Which sucks, because I think it's a game I could seriously enjoy. It's probably high time for me to think about putting my computer through some serious upgrades... as if I don't have enough expensive things I want to buy
/sigh
In other news...
I've been approached about doing a shootout in Sioux Falls in July, and I'm pretty tempted. As I understand it, a lot of area photographers and models will be getting together and taking a fuckton of pictures in a bunch of different areas. I'm not certain what to expect, so if I do this, I may not do any nekked pics or anything, but at least I'll be in front of the camera again at least one more time before I move, and that will make me happy indeed.
For fans of the Lovecraft, I blogged a short semi-erotic (not erotic to me, really, but it is highly sexual) story inspired/influenced by his works onto my website. It's the first real writing that I've done for that blog, in terms of actual fiction and not just simple rants or attempts at being clever. Felt good to write, even if it wasn't on my book.
All in all, life remains good, if uncertain from time to time.

With the discs, I'm somewhat of an expert. I've been working with CD and DVD media professionally for over 15 years, including audio and video editing, authoring, etc... 'cause now you're bored. here's the scoop.
If the scratch is on the clear bottom part, and not so deep that your fingernail would easily catch on it (don't scratch it in the process), then a buffer like the "disc doctor" should work fine. Follow the instructions and only do the amount of buffing necessary. I always used plenty of water when I used mine (don't need it now, too easy to make back up copies). The pastes and wipes don't do much.
If the label on top is damaged and you can see through to the other side, you are S.O.L. If it's a deep scratch from the clear side, you can try but don't get your hopes up.
Whatever you do, try to make a back up copy before hand. Most quality ripping/burning software can correct the data if the scratch is not too bad. If you can't get past the copy protect, ask a friend for help with another hardware/software combo. There is no foolproof copy protection, it just depends on the software you are using.
I hope you get it fixed. Let me know if you find a decent shooter (photog).
Keep Smiling! I love your smile~~
