I recieved $800 this week.
I did not *earn* $800. Not in the traditional sense, anyway. But all the same, this week has been $800 profitable for me, and every penny was completely unexpected.
The first came from my uncle two days ago, as a graduation gift. I have gone out to his place to babysit his daughter for two summers while he was working in the navy. He and I, we're pals. He is one of the biggest reasons I love my mom's family so much, because he's just such an awesomely wonderful guy, even without this astonishing gift of money. Frankly, I'd been meaning to email him, or call him, for the past couple of weeks, just because I haven't heard anything from him in probably about a year. Needless to say, this is probably the best reason EVER to give him a call. Which I did, promptly. I await his return call so I can gush about how awesome he is to him, because frankly I'd rather he didn't discover it via this site. Might be awkward.
So that's part of it. It was a good round sum. No need to disclose. The second came today, when my dearest bestest friend recieved a phone call from my ex-husband, looking for me. My DBF's phone number is one digit away from mine, so we understood how only three minutes later my phone was ringing. My DBF fielded the call, took a message, and informed me that there was a check waiting for me at my lawyer's office. I went, I inquired, and sure enough - my ex paid his half of the lawyer's fees for the divorce, and so I was reimbursed. I walked out of there about twenty mintues ago with the check in hand.
You may well be asking yourself the same question I have been considering for the past few days. What is Kleio going to do, now that she has had this wonderful influx of money? What will she do with this, when only a week ago, she was sure she was going to just barely scrape by until the next payday (which will surely be glorious)? My answer?
Eh, I have to be responsible. So, I'm only going to buy some bras, and get my new tattoo for my birthday. The rest shall go to my savings for bills.
But oh how sweet it is to know it's there!! ^_^
I've also added some new pics to my Flickr page. They're mostly old photos that I just never included with the initial upload, but they're not bad. I also have some photo-edits, inspired by Arcanum's thread going. I'm not nearly as skilled as he is, but my feeble attempts do sometimes yield good results. Here be one of my favorites that I've done.

The picture made me flinch! Scary! Also, using money to buy new bras? Good to hear. Take care of those that take care of you, I always say. Have fun being responsible with your money. It can be rewarding.
