"We are not fighting for money, for power, or for world domination. We are fighting solely for the American Dream. Our aim is not aggression or the reduction of nations to slavery. We are fighting for the Meaning of civilization. We are struggling for the Ideal of civilization; for Culture, for Poetry, for the Only Things Worth Preserving. This is a war for survival. WE are not fighting for ourselves, but for our Dreams; for the Better Things in Life which must not disappear from t he face of the earth."

Just thought I'd share with you a portion of something I've read recently. Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

Occassionally, when I start feeling somewhat morbid and odd, I turn to a thought which often entertains my mind, which I will now share with you as well.

What if Jesus hadn't been crucified? What if he'd been stoned to death instead, or thrown to the lions? I'm not an expert in Roman history or anything, but I am given to understand that there was a wide range of viable punishments and such for folks like our pal JC. What would the religious icons of today look like, if one of those *other* methods had been used?

Oooh.

Just a thought. Now to balance my checkbook to see if I will have a working cellphone at the end of the week. When will the bills go away?

What if Jesus was a crazy guy who started a cult that just happened to live on and become really popular after he died? What would Christianity be like today? Oh, wait.

Oooh. Tipping well. Possibly the most obvious advice. Makes for better acquaintance, a deeper, more beloved impression.

I tip my hat to you for giving that advice, then.
