Raise a new hurrah for Barnes and Noble bargain books, and for my very best friend. The combination of the two places in my hands Gil Elvgren. This book is filled with his beautiful pin-ups, and I'll be studying it quite a lot to prepare for another set. Not sure when I'll actually be able to get in front of the camera, but it was suggested that I make use of classic pin-up poses, and I can't think of anything more classic than this.

I really haven't got much going on right now, but am focusing a lot of graduating, and work and stuff. Graduation is such a pain, so many hoops I have to jump through. I really wish I didn't have to attend the ceremony, but this is my grandmother's dream... I'm the first of her family to attend college, and graduate. I have a younger cousin that dropped out of two different colleges (which my grandmother paid for). Big disappointment from her, so there's a whole lot of... stuff riding on my playing the little game. It's so tiring...

I should be packing. I'll be moving in a few weeks, and I've got a lot of crap. Bleeehhhhhh....

But, something that always makes me smile, my boyfriend and I will be hitting our one-year mark next saturday. I hope I'll get the day off, because the way he's been talking, he wants to plan more than just hitting the suhi bar.

Congrats on graduation! smile That's quite an accomplishment. Speaking as a professional educator, you have my best wishes on a career rife with intellectual stimulation.

I guess I shouldn't be happy upon hearing about depressed towns in my travel path - but it always makes for good photography.

So what sould I see when I'm in/near Brookings? Any names/places/things strike you as noteworthy?
