Yes, I get riled up about elections. And why shouldn't I? I pay their salaries, and I suffer and support those who suffer when they fuck us over. It's personal. It's always personal because these are people who make decisions about my future and the future of my country. It does not serve me or anyone to turn a blind eye and let them have at 'er without oversight or consequence.
Then again, I'm a rather empathetic person who gets involved. I've always gotten involved. I can't turn this off and I wouldn't want to if I could. Unfortunately (in my estimation), I seem to be a rare breed nowadays.
This country needs an enema!!!

A dying breed though.
Less than 59% of people eligible to vote, did.
That's pathetic.
As for the whole "paying your salaries" thing - I hope you never use that line when you talk to politicians. No offense, but it instantly makes you sound like... well, someone not worth listening to.
I was going to use a word or two, but you don't know me well enough, so you'd probably think I was actually saying it about you specifically, and I don't mean it that way.
I'm upset at the outcome of the election, and even more upset at the poor turnout. I'm so tired of people saying that their vote doesn't make a difference, or that all politicians are the same.
I used to be involved in politics, and occassionally someone would use the 'I'm paying your salary' line, and they always sounded like a lunatic.
Glad you're not a lunatic.
At least not that type.
You don't give your age here (though I could have sworn you used to), but yeah, I'm certainly older, or have a longer memory than you.
