It takes time for sure. You learn what you are capable of and stop worrying about what you can do. You look to yourself more they you look to fill fulfilled by other people/things.

If you looked at all of the things you hate about yourself, I bet you will find a ton of people to disagree. On the real things that may be wrong, identify them and focus on being in the solution not the problem, that is a downward spiral to nowhere.
