I am leaving a job and starting a new job (doing the exact same thing). I will confess that a number of times during the day I tend to log onto various internet sites. Today, however, I was busting my ass trying to get stuff done so I can leave on Friday with a clean conscience.
I logged onto gmail to get my mail, and was typing a reply -- hit send just as the old boss walked in. That was my only net contact of the day.
Later that day, a co-worker told me the boss said he caught me "surfing the internet all day."
I suddenly don't feel like doing any more work there.
