These are the most comfortable shoes I own. I got them on sale today after I waited over an hour at the book buy back place.
Aaron's mom arrives tomorrow. I'm not excited. The last time I saw her was last year for Christmas. Aaron and I went to Florida with that half of his family. We ended up buying a plane ticket home Christmas morning because Aaron couldn't stand being around his mom any longer on that particular vacation. After that, the only times I hear about her are when Aaron is exasperated on the phone with her. Sooo...I don't have an awesome impression. She's a nice enough person. Here's my issue, she's 40, she has the personality of a new-age/hippie/valley girl/ditz, and moved to Hawaii on another "spiritual" whim. They moved from Oregon to Massachusettes for less than a year, then to Oregon, then to Hawaii this year. And THEN complained that they don't get to see Aaron because he decided he didn't want to get dragged all over the country for no reason. They don't call very much. At least not enough to begin to bridge the gap. They've been dragging a 6 yr old along with them on their adventures. They talk about adopting another kid and I want to scream at them because they aren't paying any attention to the son they have right here.
Another awesome point of interest and complication is that neither of our mothers likes the other. We'll have to see how much they can hold back. His mom is also bringing his 6 yr old sister, who happens to be a very nice little girl. The only problem there is that I will probably get stuck with watching her while everyone else is at work. This wouldn't suck if his mom wasn't so strict about what she's allowed to be exposed to. No TV, not even kids shows, movies in moderation, no artificial colors in food, I'm not allowed to light a candle in front of her...I'm depressing myself thinking about all the things I won't be able to even think about doing/watching/listening to while she's here.
I think now that I've gotten that out of my system, I can breathe and remind myself that I'm probably going to be okay. I will teach his sister to use lighters and matches safely, buy her red Hi-C juice boxes, and let her watch MTV with me.

I want one of these with a giant ribbon around its neck handed to me in a teacup at my 21st birthday. I want an Alice in Wonderland themed costume party with alcohol in teacups, cupcakes, cotton candy trees, gum drops, lollipops, chocolate covered strawberries, sushi(not chocolate covered) etc.
