oh what a crazy week. and crazy weather here in austin. it went from cold to sunny to rainy in the past 3 days. anyway, well, our SXSW show wednesday night went really well. there were a lot of people there, not as many as last year, but, whatever. i mean, we were playing against the Donnas like a block away. but it was fun. oh yeah, Missy
came to see us! she's so little and cute (of course!) thursday was a pretty lazy day, and then at night we went to a house party to try and see Erase Errata, but it was way too crowded, and we just ended up drinking beers outside in the cold, so we said fuck it, and went downtown to try and catch the Gossip, but it turned out that they had to cancel. i was pretty disappointed, but you know. what can you do? so we just went to my favorite bar for some bloody marys and then home. Friday afternoon we played a day show, and it was fun, but it was really hot onstage, and i ended up puking in the trash can right after we finished and while the Coachwhips were playing. i felt like shit, but eventually i felt better. After that show was over, my friend Matt had passes to the SPIN ( ) party at STubbs, which normally i wouldn't have given a flying fuck about, but the fucking NEW YORK DOLLS were playing! so i said Fuck yeah! and we went over. i thought it was great. a lot of people were being snobby because David Johanson and Sylvain Sylvain were the only two original members, but i didn't really care. i just squinted my eyes and pretended that it was 1976 and i was at Max's Kansas City. Grabbed a slice of pizza and went back to Beerland for the show i was most excited to see all week. The Observers, CLorox Girls, Functional Blackouts, Black Lips, Tyrades (!), Mistreaters, M.O.T.O., and finally Guitar Wolf!!! i was pretty much in heaven, because i love all those bands...well, almost all of them. i would'a rather have seen the Spits and the Baseball Furies, but you can't have everything. ***oh my god,,, my cat just jumped over the computer and pushed something and i thought i had lost this whole entry. fuck!**** anyway, today i'm kinda just chillin until this evening, then i'm going to an instore and then a big house party that a few rad bands are playing at. should be really fun! i hope...being hungover is crap, but i was expecting as much... it's still all really fun. seeing out of town friends is the best part. oh yeah, and the rock n roll! so far i've only seen two celebrities...Donna F and Matt Pinfield. he was much littler than i imagined. anyway, news about the record and tour TBA soon...i promise! mwah!
