Well, we went and saw David Sedaris and Sarah Vowell speak and read their damn funny pieces. $9 a ticket rarely bought better entertainment!

Here's them about to sign my books...

And here's PROOF of me getting my book signed! (Plus, you get to see my humble daytime incarnation as a dorky college student!) P.S. That's me standing on the LEFT.

Both of them are incredibly talented writers, very funny, and definitely worth waiting the 8 months since I bought my ticket. I first learned about David Sedaries while working in a bookstore years back in SF. Of course I loved his writing instantly, and have read everything he's published except for his plays, so that was what I bought tonight. Sarah Vowell I learned of through NPR, which I listen to religiously, and Book TV, which I used to watch when I could catch it, when I used to have TV. (Yes, I am a nerd, thank you!) I've heard her on NPR, a couple of They Might Be Giants documentaries, TV, and just recently the big screen, but I've never read her stuff. So I bought her book, "Take the Cannolli." She had her most recent book there, "Assassinations" about presidential assassinations and the monuments erected for them, but they were only hardcover, and I am a poor college student. (See above photo.)

Anyway, I could go on and on about my enjoyment, our friendly banter, how they loved me and invited my to New York (ok, not really frown ), but I'll stop right now. wink
