I totally just bought the Oshii live action DVD boxset for less than half of the retail price on electronicBay.

Re-thinking about Ad Reinhardt I have come to the conclusion that he was one extreme of the mimetic theory of art. The other being hyperrealism and in particular pop. So he does fit in there.
