So I was in Philly, what, like, two weeks ago almost and some people said that I should get "the most recent Zatoichi." I bought "Beat" Takeshi's Zatoichi digital versatile disc from e(lectronic)Bay dot com for... oh, I don't even remember ($10? something like that). Basically, it's great. It would've been even better if "Beat" Takeshi didn't have bleached blonde hair in it, although maybe that's a Zatoichi thing?
Spent over $50 at a new liquor store today. Got Bombay Sapphire gin, Smirnoff triple distilled vodka, Martini and Rossi dry vermouth, Noilly Prat dry vermouth, and of course, a bottle of Seven Crown. Had a few vodka martinis, which tasted like shit. My guess is that either a) I put too much vodka in the shaker or b) vodka martinis taste like shit. If I can't make a decent martini by the end of the Bombay Sapphire and Smirnoff, guess who's not buying any more ingredients for martinis?
The local Asian market was closed today. Will try to buy some soba, daikon, nori, mirin, and wasabi tomorrow. I'm tryin' to get my cookin' on.
