And we are back...
Last night was Nit de Sant Joan (Saint John's Eve), probably the one local celebration I really really enjoy (well, that and La Merc). Is basically a huge citywide party to celebrate the arrival of summer. Bonfires ar lit on the beach, people gather to feast and drink, and set things on fire with as much firecrackers as possible.
I like it cause it reminds me of how New Year's Eve is back in Venezuela, there is a sense of a new beggining and a new chances on the horizon with the arrival of summer, and people celebrate that.
We had a little gathering here at my place, food, music and lots of Cava (Catalan sparkling wine, basically Champagne), i downed about a bottle and a half, and yes, I got drunk...ish.
All in all a fun night, got to eat, drink and see lots of fireworks, even traded cheers with the neighbours across the street.
Oh, speking of celebration, the short film thingie went great. The three films I worked in were recieved quite well, and we even won some awards (given out by the Jury of school teachers, students and audience).
The one called "Primera Comunin" won Best 16mm short film, the other called "Puo Potico" won Best Photography and the Audience Award. Finally, "Recuerdos del Metal" won best Art Direction, which means yours truly here got a little kudos XD I even got to accept the award with the director of the film cause or Art Director was not around.
On another note, I've found the most amazing girl, but more of that on a later entry.
