i would like to take this new blog oppertunity to firstly thank everybody that's commented on my set in MR and given it love and appreciation! it means an awful lot, i'm overwhelmed by such a positive response so thank you very much guys and dolls! smile tongue kiss

now, for the story of the weekend!
i took a trip down to Brighton with my dear friend Abigail from uni, and i have to say, before the story even starts, we have learnt how to plan it better for next time from all the mistakes we made this time!
we got the train from London Bridge at about 7.30pm, played some drawing games along the way, reached Brighton, got off the train and asked for a taxi to wherever the hotels are - this was our first and biggest mistake. we should have booked a hostel in advanvce and got it for 10 a night or something, but we walked past window after window after window of NO VACANCIES. we were on the verge of giving in and planning to snooze on the beach til the train at 4am when we found The Moan hotel (no word of a lie, it was genuinely called that!) and got a twin room for 70 - i'm convinced this was a slight rip-off but we were grateful enough we had some keys for the night!
we dumped our bags, had the complimentary hot chocolates and biscuits so gratiously provided and headed down to Brighton Pier about 10pm ish. fish and chips were absolutely necessary, as was a spliff by the beach tongue
we then decided we wanted to try and go somewhere, so we started walking towards the lights of the town and wherever we could hear people. however, everywhere was literally packed, and most people we saw were dressed so differently to us - all the chicks were in teeny tiny dresses with no coats, and wearing killer heels and obvious fake tan, whereas i had blue wellies and an adidas jacket on and my friend was in white plimsole shoes and leggings .... we blatantly didn't belong to these kinda crowds so we found a backstreet pub that had a live band on, and they were pretty good smile the guy had a decent voice, we stayed for Walk of Life and Sweet Caroline, then went back down to the beach for another spliff
i had to have a little splash around in the water too, playing the wave-dodging game tongue then we sat sort of in the middle of a set of rock hills on the beach and started throwing rocks.
at first, it was to try and hear them splash, then it was just to hear them thud. but then, out of nowhere and quite suddenly, my friend discovered that if you throw them hard enough and at the right angle, they make sparks on the ground ... well, that was it really. we spent the next hour and a half or more throwing rocks to make fire, feeling like savages but laughing hysterically and continuously tongue more spliffs were obviously smoked, and then the stars came out and got everywhere - all in my bag and in our hair and all over our clothes! messy times but hilarious too smile
eventually our arms got sore from hurling rocks, so we made our way back and got some milk and jaffa cakes on route to the room smile a cup of tea was due, and falling asleep was easy after that smile
we missed breakfast in the morning and had to be out by ten ... it was raining so we just came back to London, but it was still a fun little holiday tongue
pictures will be up shortly, right now though i'm having too much of a good time listening to Leonard Cohen's discography and sitting in bed with a smoke on smile

all the best til next time
