Yesterday I had a chance to see Constantine and have to say that it was better than what I thought. I'm a huge fan of the original comic book Hellblazer so was a bit skeptical when I heard about all of the changes they were planning. Turns out they did a good job with the relocation / changes and that Reeves did a good job as Constantine. Plus...I'm such a sucker for anything mystical in the modern age. All someone has to do is "In Nomine Spiritus Sanctus..." blah blah blah and I'm all dewy-eyed. Stems from my love of Lovecraft as a kid and the hopes of bringing down elder gods to wipe the teeming apes called humans from this plane.
Tomorrow I might have a chance to see a preview of The Island -- possible crap-fest? Could be, but it is the summer, I'm in the mode of "popcorn movie" and it's by Michael Bey. What more needs to be said?

I got an interesting call the other day from my old pal Daryl, bass player in the Bad Brains, one of the great bands of WASHINGTON DC. He told me the band wanted to play the CBGB's benefit thing at the end of July and would I do the singing. I agreed and we started to get the set together and when we were going to practice and then a few days ago, the dates got postponed and I don't know when they will be rescheduled and where I'll be when they do. I have been getting a lot of letters asking if this was true and hopefully this answers those questions.
