On today's menu we have:
Grilled pork chops with Rhubarb Chutney
Lemon-Saffron Rice
Cumin Glazed Carrots
and a few glasses of "No Name" wine. The orchard that is by my parent's house has a whole line of wine -- mostly fruit (including a killer cherry and blueberry wine. Oh yeah and fuckin' MEAD!!!) but this no-name wine is basically a Shiraz with a touch of Cabernet. Sweet, low tannin and a bit mellow. It's a 2002 and has a good body...went very well with dinner and I'm having a hard time drawing the line at two glasses
Watched Kinsey yesterday. When you think about the topics that are covered in the movie it really does boggle the mind. Were people that misinformed about sexuality a mere 40 years ago? Not saying that we're in this super culture of sex, but at least people are somewhat more informed. As a movie it's not bad but as a historical document it's pretty amazing. Kinsey was so focused on the science that he didn't really realize that the subject he was dealing with was still taboo. In this day and age it's hard to understand that.
On the opposite end of the scale...Hulk =
not very good.
For those who care...found out today that my sister is coming out for a visit! I'm going to put money down that she's the only family member who'll ever visit, so this is a big deal The rest of tonight is making reservations at some restaurants and trying to get tickets to shows and whatnot.
