Diary of a sick man
So yesterday was another weak-ass corporate "party" to celebrate our first time of making a profit. Naturally as someone who is untrusting of Big Business, I was like "What the fuck was that?" when I heard it. So we've been pissing away 'virtual capital' for the last 9 months I've been there? Yeesh...

No sleep in Brooklyn!
Last night's show was pretty damn amazing. The Union Pool continues to impress me with how great the place and people are. The stage area isn't too bad -- a bit small, kinda sucky sound.
Got there a bit early and had a few beers then wandered into the show (which was nearly 2 hours late). The first band, Crimson Sweet...

That's the beauty of having nieces and nephews. You get to play and act stupid with them, but they don't come home with you to stay.
Kind of the same reason I don't have pets, either. I can barely take care of myself.

Not much longer until the Turks show and some supposed "winter storm" that's going to blow in tonight. All I can say is "storm my ass". Okay, I moved from the Snow Belt, where it wasn't uncommon for us to get 26" or more in one night. I laugh everytime people panic out here on the East Coast when there's a report of a...

Last night and this morning were quite an interesting lot. Went to this gallery by my place called Jack the Pelican which normally has some pretty solid work. Last night, though, wasn't the case. This month's feature is a pathetic attempt at "shock art" that was more yawn inducing than shocking. Oh, look, it's a pig eating a donut and dressed like a NYC cop....

phone sex! hot damn! can you order than up randomly, or do you have to know someone? (oh, who am i kidding...we live in new york...you can get anything "takeout".)
It's a Friday night.
My question to you is...what are you doing indoors and reading this?
Get outta th' house fool!
Personally my oh-so-hot Greek ass is on the way out to visit some of the local galleries (some kinda mass opening at a number of galleries) and check out the possibly bad work. Hopefully there's (a) alcohol...and the free-type, that is and (b) free...

i've been planning a photoset with one of the photogs i work with (provided my over-30 ass gets approved by the reigning SG Goddesses), maybe i'll suggest the grainy Film Noir b&w approach.
and strangely, i was trying to find a way to minimize my i-love-st. dymphnas-beer gut without having to go crazy in retouching...hm...

New Bomb Turks will be playing a reunion show at Union Pool this coming Sunday (Feburary 20th) at 8:00 p.m.!!!
Holy Moley -- I was at the laundrymat doin' my laundry when I read the blurb about NBT. Seizures followed by running around like a loon. To help commerate this occassion I slapped on my well-worn 33 1/3 "Destroy - oh boy!" and paid hommage...

I think I've finally saved up enough money to get my bellybutton "removed" or at least sealed over. I'd like to have nothing but flat skin with no hole -- that "just hatched" look.
Hopefully some, if not all of you had the opprotunity to have a "let's get it on" day. Make it everyday! While the idea of coupling would work, going solo for...

Ah...V-day.
This is my first VD in NYC and have to say that it's not as over-the-top as it was back in the Midwest. By now many single, pathetic people would be pouring into the bars to show off their unwanted stripes. Not really the pick of the litter to speak of.
The East Coast seems to be a bit...

Best blaxploitation soundtrack ever?
Superfly, hands down. Not only for its musical prowess, but because if you really listen, the songs comment directly on what's happening or what will happen in the movie.
Why is no one else commenting on your journals?
They don't know what they're missing.
Suckers.
Sorry I haven't responded to your email yet. I'm...lazy.

Hmm...this weekend has been an active one. Friday got completly plowed after going to the eye doctor. Saturday you can read the journal entry about the Gates -- plus had some stuff come in at Toy Tokyo. Right on! Oh yeah, got some swag outta it too since I do some deals with 'em.
Sunday I got my ass outta bed, ran 7 miles in...

Pft -- I wish! In theory it is although the whole idea behind the "lets' is a couple or more. Hmm...I think I'm motivated to impliment this.

I just got back from seeing the enormous environmental piece that Christo and Jeanne-Claude erected and unveiled today.
This was quite amazing to see and even more enjoyable watching those who are not familiar with environmental art. Remember kiddies, you need to take into consideration of how the piece effects the space around the artwork, not just the...

I know that Christo and Jeanne-Claude have been working on the installation for quite some time now.
I'm sorry I can't be there to see it, but those photos are great. I love the way that the fabric changes color in the light. I wonder how it will look at nighttime...will the gates be lit up at all?
That would be amazing.

The gates will only be up until February 27th, then they come down and the fabric / framework will be recycled. That was one thing I know wasn't mentioned in any of the news reports / articles that I read which makes me thankful I got out and checked it out when I could!
I think I've been on the site for about a month or less and realized that I seem to be one of the oldest people on board. Yeesh! Although this is more akin to who I am rather than those of my age and ilk.

Ah, the days of sushi and sake and fat expense accounts. I remember them well.
As far as the derby league is concerned, it's not going to be staged. Sure, we'll have some showy elements in there (gotta entertain the crowd, you know), but we're all pretty competitive. I can't wait until my first fistfight.
There aren't any pics as of yet since we're only a month and a half old, but we'll be posting photos of some of the girls on our website this weekend. If I have time.
The site's pretty rough at the moment, but it's just a stopgap thing until we get the real deal up and running.
i recommend becoming more intimate with it...
