Went to bed at 4:00 a.m. after chatting with the beyond-cool-to-rule Vixen, only to wake up at 8:40 a.m.! Damn my hot body! See, I can't sleep, no matter how tired I am if it's light out. So I get up, putz around and make myself some healthy pancakes (and yeah, they do exist). After eating a ton of flapjacks I then decided to...

ah, nothing like copious amounts of beer to loosen the gears.

went out last night with a friend of mine to Matchless -- which, luckily is a 2 block stumbling distance from my house. Had two killer games of pool, the barkeep gave me a buyback at 11:30 p.m. and I actually chatted up a cute girl. Whoa, I'm all social now!

That last post...

Thanks for the congrats! You rock babe! kiss kiss

Well, after a slew of good dates when I first moved here (and fucked up on quickly) I have had a very...very dry run.

Naturally this hasn't helped my disposition what-so-ever.

What I wonder is whether or not everyone is (1) more interesting and (2) better looking than moi. Sure I might have a bit to offer...but it seems like that initial meet is an...

Alright alright. Yes its the spring season of love. But winter was so long that its taking me a while to get into the swing of the new season.

Or maybe im turning into a bitter cynical woman. Pretty soon, i'll start to get lots of cats and live in seclusion. wink

Well all Fuckin' right! Just checked in at the Beta Lounge and their doing a live set from Hamburg -- nothing like listening to live DJ's spin 1/2 way around the world. There's also a new Turnvader set up, so treat your ears to some aural sex: Beta Lounge

it's cocktail hour!

okay, so yesterday I have to say that I was wwwaaayyy down. It's been a while that I've had that kinda "just get in bed to get it over with" day.

Today was better, though and it's ending on a good note...the evening nitecap! Nothing like a good meal (pan-seared porkchop with sherry-vinegar butter sauce, roasted cauliflower, broccoli and garlic, fresh bread...

Thanks for all the suggestions -- I'd feel really bad if you typed that out and didn't cut and paste all that from somewhere.

Edit to say ...

I don't know why but I just never got into Apocalypse 91. I thought all but two songs just didn't have the sense of urgency they captured so well on It Takes A Nation of Millions... and Fear of a Black Planet.

Either way Public Enemy was a great band! I'll still back Chuck D (but I'm not too sure about Flavor anymore).

Everyone should have Apocalypse 91: The Enemy Strikes Black. My friends laugh at me when I play it in the car, because I know the lyrics to every track.

Anyway, yeah, I know broken bones are part of the territory. I keep telling girls who don't have insurance that they need to hook that shit up. Next time it could be them.

The exhibition is going to be us competing against ourselves. We'll break up into 2 teams and compete for probably one period, which is about 30 minutes. We'll have bands there, too, and some other stuff in the works as well. Oh yes, it's on.

Had to return the new kicks today -- rubbed my feet the wrong way. Nuts! Time to hit the skate shops and stickw with my old standards...

Hmm...Al's set = CALIENTE. Ay! I think I'm stuck on black and white photography, though. I kept on envisioning this as high-contrast, grainy black and white. Guess it's the arts-fartsy in me.

I seem to be in a...

oh man, wotta day.

started off with me waking up around 3:45 a.m. wide awake -- about 1/2 hour earlier than normal. That's cool, though...allowed me to get some stuff done.

The gym was empty -- or at least the jackasses that drive me nuts weren't around, so I got a good workout in.

Hit work and spent 8 hours doing...nothing. Note to self: get...

Saturday wrap-up...or how much of an odd egg am I?

When the weather turns warm I become "energized" and feel like I'm perpetually hepped up on speed -- which hasn't been the case for many years.

I got to the gym at 9:00 a.m. and proceeded to run 7 miles, lift weights for 2 - 2 1/2 then bike about 12 miles. Yeesh! No clue...

I got there pretty late -- like 11 or so. I ended up staying until there were like four people left at two in teh morning (one of them was the bartender) and he was playing Dead Kennedy and Fugazi cds.

Shepard Fairy is a cool guy. I actually have a framed stencil that he used. You still see the paint residue on it.

thanks. smile sounds like you had a crazy night...I love running around and doing lots of cool stuff, it makes me feel accomplished. I don't have any extra NIN tix as of now but I'll let ya know if one of my friends can't go.

I am addicted to sugar!

It's a wonder that I don't weigh 20000 lbs with the quantity of pastries and especially chocolate that I shovel into my gaping maw.

Before coming out here I was near completion of opening my own pastry / chocolate shop called "Dessert". The concept was pretty simple -- serve dessert! People could come in and get something after their meal...

I say you should do it! I thought about opening up a bakery here at one point after a stint of freelancing with a friend, but reconsidered after gaining 15 pounds and realizing I have a sugar intolerance. Heh.

Don't worry, I'll be back with more roller derby exploits...I've just been really grumpy lately and I don't want to be a whiny bastard.

i'm feeling your pain, my friend...i've eaten so much friggin' sugar since easter, i am feeling it -- hello yeast infection! (no, i don't have one, but that's what happens when bette mixes beer with sugar. baaaaad combination.)

also -- i have just been informed that it's my friend Nick's b-day tonight -- so i might have to pass on the gallery outing, but i'll let you know when i hear what their plan is.

First person to get back with me can join me! This thing starts around 10 p.m. on Saturday,...
