On the way to the concert, we saw a tornado forming behind us while we (Eric, his friend Steve, and I) were driving down the Thruway. A fucking tornado was forming in the sky behind us. The funnel cloud was at the top, and the tail was forming split off from the funnel, and it connected for a few seconds, and then it dissipated. Steve's friends driving behind us said it was forming for about 7 minutes. I saw it only when we called them to see where they were. That was pretty wicked.

The concert at the Town Ballroom was pretty good. Venue was moved from the Dome Theater in Niagara Falls to the Town Ballroom in downtown Buffalo. Thank God for that. N.F. is another 30 miles at least from Buffalo.

Didn't really care much for 3 Inches of Blood, Behemoth was pretty good. They totally reminded me of Dethklok, from Metalocalypse, with the way the guitarrists were doing windmills pretty much the entire time. Lead singer ripped up a Bible on stage, which I didn't really care for, but other than that, they were pretty good.

Hatebreed I was a little disappointed with. They didn't really play too much older stuff. Smash Your Enemies, Perseverance, and Live For This, This is Now, and another few older tunes, otherwise it was a shit-ton of stuff off of Supremacy. Still was good.

Then Lamb of God came on. I had not seen them live yet. It was awesome. The lighting along with it totally enhanced the performance. Why wasn't anyone cheering for Willie? You guys cheered a lot for Mark, but not Willie? Bastards. And where was the love for John Campbell? Doesn't he get spotlights, other than the one time? And where's the love for Chris Adler? Give me some love for Chris Adler please!!! The Wall of Death for Black Label was weak. The venue really wasn't conducive for pits/Wall of Death, but I did like the venue because anywhere you were you could see everything on stage (amphitheater/stadium styled layout.) Other than those few minor gripes, they fucking ruled the show.

I was standing behind the sound boards, so I got to see the first half of the set list. They played all the songs I needed to hear (Omerta, Walk With Me In Hell, Ruin, Laid To Rest, Now You've Got Something To Die For, Redneck, As The Palaces Burn, Black Label) and quite a few others. I was headbanging wildly during my favorite songs (see list above) and I felt like I was the only one. Do kids headbang anymore? When I would go see Pantera, Metallica, and Slayer back in the day, it seemed like everyone was doing that.

Overall I'm very happy I finally got to see Lamb Of God. The only band now on my current list of must see bands before I die is Strapping Young Lad. If I saw them live, I'd be very happy and accomplished that I've seen all of my favorite bands at least once live. Wish I could have seen Sepultura. Who knows, maybe Max will do a reunion tour? Damn I love metal.

I doubt that was why, silly.
