Show w/ Raucous, Creepshow, & Johnie 3
Mike & Renee's backyard, West Cape May, NJ 7/9/05
First off, everyone who said you were gonna show up but didnt.YER FIRED!!! LOL! Seriously though, yall missed a great fucking show. Kill yerself later.
Since Andy found it necessary to watch the friggin Fantastic 4, Penny and me had to break it all down. Well Penny did most of that, I just handled the drums. I picked up George and headed over to Mike & Renees. I wanted to get there early to have it all set up in plenty of time. Penny told me not to even bother setting my kit up coz Raucous was going on first. So were basically just hanging out waiting for people to show. I think it was right before 5 when Raucous showed up. They brought most of their own gear so between both bands it looked like we were almost ready for an arena show. Someone said there was a dude looking for me. I thought it was someone from one of the other bands but it was a dude Dave from My Space. I think this was the only person who bothered showing up who wasnt either in a band or friends & family of one. I really dont know what the hell happened to everybody. I know it was a little hectic trying to actually find a place to put the show on but we did tell everyone to keep this date open. I bitched enough already, so fuck it.
Half of each band from Johnie 3 and Creepshow showed up. They caught the ferry and got separated. Everyone eventually showed up and the show was ready to go. Raucous put in a strong set as always. I love Chuck and Keith to death, but there was some bug up Damians ass. Penny had asked him to move his truck as he was double parked and he got pissed off about it. Whatever. Take a chill bro, you are among friends you know.
So it came down to a coin flip between Creepshow and Johnie 3 as to who would go on next. Creepshow won so on they went. I only knew their couple songs from My Space. Let me tell you something, we were all blown away! Had us all out there shakin our asses. Not a pretty site when its me and Andy, but K and Jen made up for that. I find out later that it was the one guitar player Stivs first show I believe. The rest of the band literally met him a few days before. Awesome set and I cant wait to hear a full length CD.
Johnie 3 came up and played all our fucking favorites. Weve been playing the hell out of their latest CD on Cheapskate Records. If you fuckers dont have it, you better pick it up now. Had us all singing along and dancing. Great, great set and a pleasure to finally see these guys.
By now it was 9 oclock and I thought we werent even gonna get a chance to play. Not that it even mattered at this point coz I was just blown away by the last 2 bands. My Son suggested we just use the equipment up there to hurry it along so thanks to both bands for letting us do that. Especially the drummers for letting me use their kit and cymbals. We blasted off with Totally Worthless and got to even play a full set. I was expecting to get shut down but it never happened. I had so much fun! Was a blast having everyone coming up and singing along. The highlight was Im A Slug where members of each of the previous bands were up there singing. What a great fucking time! Props to all the friends and family that did bother showing up. Im sure you had as much fun as we did. Thanks to Kite (who had a wish to get arrested again by keeping saying the F word thru the PA again! ), Jackie, Jill, Ivan, Murdoch, Jessie, George, Jen, Pvt. Dick & family, everyone. Special thanks to Mike & Renee for having us, and all their neighbors for being so fucking cool and not calling the cops. Well the po po did show up as we were packing up but we were done by then.
The real fun was the after show drinking. Great to get fucked up with all those guys. Fun times for sure and a great way to end the night. Didnt think I was gonna make it being as sick I was, but the Pabst Blue Ribbon helped things. Cripes, we definitely have to do this again sometime. Hope we can get out to their hometowns and play a show. Many, many thanks to Creepshow and Johnie 3 for coming up to play. One of the best shows ever!
