I called Penny up this morning to get a practice going later and he was saying something about our band's message board. I couldn't quite hear him and checked it out as soon as I got home. Apparently somebody posted something about us being named after a racist organization! I don't know if this is a joke or what! Here's the post...

"I can't believe there are still racist groups around today. Growing up as a child on the hardened streets of New York, I had to deal with a racist organization called 'The Sheckies'. How dare you still represent what they stand for. I thought the group was ended, but I guess black racists still live on. I am truly appalled."

Here's my reply....

"Um........Hello? Is this a joke? This band is against all forms of racism and homophobia. We were named after a line from a 1982 movie called "It Came From Hollywood" Read about it here....

The band name came from a spoof on Mr. Spock from Star Trek "Meet my sister Shelly and her sister Sheckie".

Sorry such a dopey organization even existed. I sure as hell know we weren't named after 'em!"

Anyway, Not sure if this big Nor'easter is gonna ruin our show tomorrow. We have a bunch of co-workers coming out. Hope they can handle it!
