WYBF studios, Cabrini College, Radnor, PA 11/17/06

Joe Stevenson from "The Pit" radio show there was kind enough to invite us to the 23rd anniversary show for his program. He's the older brother of my old bass player Timmy from Black Friday, so it was more than an honor to do it.

We left kinda early and I'm glad we did as we hit some Philly rush hour traffic. Finding the place was easy enough. There's some real pretty country out there in the 'burbs of Philly. We had some trouble finding the actual building we were to play at, but some helpful students pointed us along. They had some staff waiting for us and I can't thank them enough for helping us carry gear in. Especially as it was on the 2nd floor and my fat ass isn't good with stairs! A bass drum was already provided so I just hooked up my wing toms and set up the rest of my kit. We would be playing in a TV studio. It was way too bright and the ceiling was too high, kinda "sterile" to be playing music in. I think this added to my nervousness. I gotta feel the vibe ya know! wink I was definitely wound too tight for this gig.

The staff were all nice and Joe was really cool to us. We had fun cutting some station ID's. The interview we did before the show went really smooth. Then it was time to go back in the TV studio and play. As I said earlier, my playing was a little off and I apologize for that. I don't know why I was so nervous, I played 'FMU no problem. I was definitely doing too much thinking and not just playing with feel. We all had a couple miscues, but it was live radio and it is our tradition to screw up! Watching Andy and Penny cracking up while singing "friggin' knucklehead" trying to censor themselves for radio was pretty funny!

Afterwards we signed a ton of posters for the station. We hung around for the next act to use our amps. It was then time to pretty much hightail it out of there as we have a long drive ahead of us today to the Virginia gig. People said they liked it and I did get a chance to listen to a copy of it. The drums were definitely too loud as were the backing vocs, but overall it wasn't too bad all things considered. I've always been my own harshest critic! Thanks again to Joe and all the staff for having us. Sorry if I offended the administrators with my "Vagitarian" t-shirt! biggrin
