2 shows in one day! Yikes!! eeek

Middle Twp Rec Center, CMCH, NJ 10/14/06

The 1st of 2 shows we were playing yesterday. We would be playing outside in the parking lot as part of the grand opening ceremony of a local skatepark that the twp was kind enough to put up. Problem was we only had like 2 days notice to try and promote it. I don't think the skateboarding kids and their parents could care less, at least we played to our most dedicated Sheckie kids again, Sean, and Matt & Judy, Erick & gal (I still need her name, LOL). Friggin' Wagner showed up as well providing the real entertainment of the day! ("Yeeeeeeeeeeah, I don't like no New York Doll looking people"!)

So here were setting up in the corner of the parking lot behind all these little safety cones. We'd be running off a friggin' generator. Didn't know if it would hold up, but it did the job. We couldn't have picked a better day to play outside. Low 60's, nice breeze, and not a cloud in the sky. I didn't think I could get a sunburn in friggin' October, but my pasty ass did!

We were the only band to be featured and had 2 1/2 hours to kill. We managed to fill up our time nicely with 3 sets. They had the whole ribbon cutting ceremony with the mayor after the first set. I think it will be featured in the local paper The Herald this upcoming week. Will be nice to be featured under something positive considering all the stuff with the Legion Hall.

Andy was cracking me up censoring some of the dirty words in the songs, but there were a lot of real little kids and their parents around. However, we did wind up playing Neg Mofo and Papa Smurf near the end. I couldn't sing my backing parts on the last one, but the Sheckie kids were more than willing to shout out the inappropiate words! We also were taking requests from them by the 3rd set and were playing songs we haven't played in ages.

All in all, a fun day. Hopefully we'll be able to play future shows there. This could be a possible replacement for the Legion Hall indeed.

(Set list notes: Not sure if this is the proper order, but I'm almost certain we played all these friggin' songs!)

10 West Bar & Lounge, Absecon, NJ 10/14/06

The 2nd show of the day. I tell you, between shows I didn't think I was gonna make it being down with this cold and all. Somehow I got my 2nd wind and I though played an even tighter set than what we played earlier in the day.

Just In Case was kind enough to hook us up with this gig. The 3rd band Hand Me Down Buick couldn't make it, so it was just us 2 bands. I liked this venue a lot. Kinda small, but nice comfy chairs and couches to crash in being that our start time was pushed back

Wags came along for the ride with the kids. I'm sure they loved that! Freaky Frank as well as Tweety & Greaser Steve showed up. I was most surprised when Kite, Marissa, & "my son" showed up as well. So it took on a hometown feel even if it was up the road a bit.

After much needed lounging and BS-ing, we went on at 11:00. PA sounded great and it was nice to actually have a monitor for a change. Don't know where we all got the boost of energy, but I thought we really killed that set! I know my playing was spot on and tight. Maybe playing a little sick and tired does that. Kite and Freaky Frank joined us for an epic "Neg Mofo". "Like A Parasite" closed things out with Andy's most professional sounding spiel EVER in the middle of it, LOL!

Just In Case wrapped the night with a great set. I think they've gotten a new bassist since the last time we played with them. Thanks again to those guys and 10 West for having us. Hope we can come back soon!
