having computer problems... i can't get onto our server... right now I'm using my neighbors wireless... but that has proven only to work a few minutes at a time... so... i guess little computer usage tonight...

i just got finished watching a six part documentary about Native Americans called 500 Nations... I'm bitter now... and i can't hold back the tears....

how could we have done that to them...

massacred one nation after another... claimed their lands... told them that their religion was barbaric... took children away from their parents... drove the buffalo to extinction

it's fucking sad... i mean i knew that this wasn't the white man's land... but i just didn't know how bloody it was to take it all away from the people who first started here...

I'm so ashamed to be white sometimes...

fuck...

Yes.... I felt the same recently reading in some thread "Funny how many Americans claim to have Cherokee ancestry"... What's less funny is the explanation: the Cherokee, then the most numerous East Coast nation, wanting eagerly to become part of the US, and adopting spontaneously the white's lifestyle... only for finding out that admitting their nation's territory in the Union as a new state was not exactly what their neighbors had in mind, and the Cherokee being eventually submerged by the Wasp...

Good luck with complilng the 100 movies list!

My dad gets all worked up about native americans when he sees tv shows so i'll have to get that for him. It is awful, i tried to read Bury my heart at wounded knee but got a little too emotional.
