at my work we sell these candles that are red, white and blue...

it's funny to see people's reaction to them...

half the people that come in think they are the best thing since apple pie...

i sometimes feel that they want to take off their hats to salute it... like it was their patriotic duty... or some people look like they will start crying at the beauty of it... i usually stand there and think "freaks!".

on the other hand some people make faces and say how tacky it is... or they will break into a joke that just doesn't make sense... like.... "look hun... freedom fries!" while the lady is cracking up i'm standing there thinking..."freaks!"

why do we get so emotional over the red, white and blue either one way or the other?

i guess that can be said for any symbol... like the cross or the double arches (yes! i compared Jesus with McDonalds!)...

i can't say that i'm not a freak and don't have my quirks... i mean... i love list... i create so many of them that it looks like a fetish to me...

ummm... yeah...
