I'm back from two beautiful, humid, mosquito-infested weeks in Vermont. I would have loved to stay longer, but it's probably a good thing that I didn't. Thursdays at Embers kill me. There's always really important stuff for me to do in the morning that requires a clear head and sharp focus, two things I lack after my miscreant friends keep me out drinking until the wee hours.

Today I had to wake up at 7:45 AM to let a nice fellow by the name of Bill into my apartment so he could chisel out half the wall of my guest bedroom closet (because there's some sort of water leak between my apartment and my neighbor's that's warping the wall and growing mold like a petri dish). Then I've got to take a conference call at 10:00 with the people who make the Myst video games and try to sound coherent, depsite the fact that I've had only 3 1/2 hours of sleep and am still slightly drunk.
