I have nothing nice to say......HA, thats never stopped me before so here goes. Why the Hell must we suffer the fallout of reality TV???? I dont give a flying f that some former beauty queen chose some pretty boy waiter who still lives at home with his parents over the millionaire new york stock market guru with the Rocky fetish. It was on the...

Some people could always read a book or, at least the people familiar enough to hold it right side up on the first try... surreal
arachnequarius:
ugh - reality television. so - my soapbox:

ok, so we have survivor, yes? and people who have the LUXURY to leave their lives for a few months to play bungle in the jungle or whatever. they fuck around with each other and live in "dramatic" conditions for a nice chunk of change. then they do the talk shows dripping with smugness and relate their genius "survival" strategy to the masses.

leaving off the sheer irritation factor, what about giving money to people who are really struggling to survive? maybe they should take their camera into a low income neighborhood where kids have to run home from school to avoid getting shot, or beat up etc. anyone who makes it through an entire year wins a cool million. or even better, try to actually HELP someone (in a non-scary pax way).

ok, i could keep rolling the indignation, but i will put my soapbox away now. back to philosophy!

Well, sledding was fun, scooby-do puzzle was fun, coloring was fun, and making bead jewelry was, um fun. All in all, another great day with the numba one kid.

I am going sledding with my daughter again. We did donuts in the Ames parking lot last night, totally fun. Sex wax on a Wal-Mart sled = freakish speed. I still have this stupid grin on my face from watching her have fun last night. I hope to talk to you guys later.

Heh,
Again while stalking around the site and checking out peoples journals, i found that there are a lot of sick people out there. I mean, physically sick with the Flu or really bad colds. Damn, its like visiting a virtual hospital ward. How the hell did so many of you manage to get sick? I really do feel for you though, being a recluse,...

No, I'm not sick, and I'm praying to all the relevant parties [buddhas, boddhisattvas, Exu.... etc.] that the flu doesn't come to the nursing home I work at.

I don't get everything going around anymore because my immune system has been pumping germ iron-- I worked in a coffee shop and touched germy money for years and got peoples colds, and now I work with sick people, and am exposed to their colds. fingers crossed, knock on wood, salt over the shoulder, I've been lucky.

damn- I saw a lot of the moron-capades on my way to work. People seem to think that because they drive a big suv they are invincible. perhaps they have failed to notice that my car is still rear wheel drive, and thus they aught to give me a decent following distance....
I was surprised I only saw one guy spun out on the way to work on rt. 15.

but despite all this-- I f+cking love snow, cold feet and all-- I think it's a great reminder that we humans don't run the earth-- we just live here.

You are indeed a sweet person. I like that. Welntaod is indeed a fortunate soul to have your affection/attention; he seems like a very talented person as well.
I know what you mean about building immunity to germs, I worked at St. Francis hospital, Manchester Memorial hospital, and Hartford hospital as a consultant for years, first few months were a drag, being sick all the time. Now, I feel pretty much immune to the lesser evil bugs out there.
As for the rear wheel drive, trust me I know, I just bought a grand am (front wheel drive) because I have driven a Camaro the past 6 winters here. Talk about tossing the dice in the snow.
I'm glad you took time out to post in my journal; its nice to have a few new friends to get to know. I hope that all of us locals can get together for "drinks" or whatever (I dont drink) soon.
Take care and good night,

Snow is so much fun; the stuff is sooooo evil even though it conjures up mental images of so many good things. You know, like snow angels, Santa Claus, sledding and the like. However, from my hotel window, it showed its true nature in the form of an ice ball smacking a kid in the back of the head, causing the kid to do a...

hmmm, i think a combo of one and two. its the cold thats the evil. cold = bad. but if its gonna be cold, its less depressing when there is snow around. i feel like shit today. i thought i was escaping this cold thing but alas, no, im fucked.

Good night all, hope you dont get snowed in too bad.
alienprincess:

Ok, got the required amount of nicotine and caffeine to jump start my day so here goes. I am looking to buy some art for my new house, and I know that I can go out and buy prints and other crap, and that I can find local starving artist to fill the order so to speak, but its not what I want, fuck the...
