Well i got depressing news: I didn't get any of the duty stations i wanted, and the one i got is deploying a month after i arrive to afghanistan. Needless to say the wife isn't happy. But on the bright side, she's on board with me getting out now after this latest bullshit.

Had a great weekend! Friday the wife took me to the Hard Rock Cafe in Seattle (never been before). Then off to the 21+ Underground Tour of Seattle, and finally to the Underground Comedy Club for a show. Pretty good time. The drinks weren't even a rip off at the comedy club! Then the rest of the weekend was rather mild but enjoyable.

Pretty much have the backyard finished. We built a retaining wall all the way around and put about 3 cubic yards of dirt in to level the grade. Topped it off with some weedblock and woodchips, put in 5 trees. Had the lawn curbing dude come and do the super awesome curbs in instead of using edgers. Back yard project... sounds like my day. I dug up grass all day around the porch for a flower bed. Then mowed. I'm pretty beat! But it was soooo nice outside! Tomorrow's going to be even better!

Had a phone interview with SAIC last week for an Electronic Warfare Advisor job in Texas. They were supposed to let me know this week if i was getting a second interview or not. That hasn't happened yet. It'd be nice, i'ld love to get off active duty however i guess i'm locked in. Lame.

Yeah i did. The issue is that they are too many uncertainties with it. The wife and i want to try and have kids here in the next two years and we need to be sure we can have an income and health care for them. Looks like it's still the army for this guy.
