thanks so much for all the birthday wishes....fuck...24...i can't even say that i am in my early 20's anymore. i am in my mid-20's. MTV has officially stopped catering to me. looks like it's VH1 from here on out.

dealing with divorced parents means i got to spend a night with each of them, basking in free dinner. i got On Writing by Stephen King from my mom, which i am in the process of enjoying thoroughly. got the Acid House and One Hundred Years of Solitude in the mail from a friend in Florida, and i am quite excited to tear into those as well. the girlfriend took me out for a night on the town on my birthday, where we gorged ourselves on italian food.

on saturday, penny was nice enough to take me out to dinner at Soba, a thai restaurant. oh man, it was so ridiculously good. i was reminded of those uber fancy restaurants that allow only the most important of celebrities entrance. seaweed salad, general tso' seitan, pad thai, ice cream.......ridiculously good. we then hit up an art exhibit (where i watched surreal CGI movies with norritt)and sat around being artsy fartsy for the rest of the night with penny's secret friends. it was a hoot.

x-mas shopping is now halfway done. the hard ones are still to come though.
