Last weekend was a hoot. I'll type the whole ordeal, because it is way more fun than going to sleep.
So ok, we were booked at this wonderful place in the middle of nowhere called Pancake, PA. I had booked the show like a month ago, and I had not heard from the kid since. So it was coming down to the day of the show, and I still hadn't gotten in touch with the kid who's putting on the show. I went to Pittsburgh Friday night to spend time with the girlfriend, and the rest of the band was going to meet me Saturday evening and we'd head down to the place together - but I didn't want them to come if we weren't still playing a show. I called down to the Pancake Skate n' Whirl and they say that there are three bands on the bill that night, and that we aren't one of them. Since there were only 3, the owner said it wouldn't be a problem for us to play anyway. So I was mad, I really wanted to play a good show - the SGPittsburgh crew was supposed to come out, not to mention the band was driving 3 hours to get here, and we weren't even supposed to be on the show. Talked to the band, and they said "fuck it, let's play." So I picked up penny, picked up the girlfriend, met the band, and we all took a road trip to PANCAKE.
Man was it worth it going. It was such a great experience to play. There had been a mixup and we were supposed to be on the bill, we played to a super energetic crowd that hadn't seen us before, sold lots of merch, and even got some gas money for the show. I got a chance to meet destro, who showed up during our set, but didn't get to talk much since I was running around doing rockstar things....like soloing in front of fans and stuff.
I would like to devote a seperate section here to state that penny is one of the coolest people I have ever met, and I had a ton of fun with her when she came out. Not only did I really like her, but she managed to make friends with the entire band (not an easy feat, there's 6 others) and all of their girlfriends, not to mention she got along super good with my girlfriend - destroying any tension over me bringing a girl I met through a porn site with us to the show
rock on.
In other news, I got an independent study this semester in comic book art. How sweet is that? Not only do I get to draw comics all semester, I don't have to go to class to do it. If anyone wants to shoot the shit about comics, please drop me a line and we can be dorks together.
Also, I'm gonna put up the Jason page one more time, because I need to spread its message of peace and love some more:

dude,,, i grew up about 2 miles from pancake, when i was a kid i used to rollerskate there. and in high school the bands and music projects i did rocked the joint every saturday night.... i dont think ive been there for at least 6 years.... are there still ramps?
