WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO AIDS?!?!?
I remember growing up and seeing Magic Johnson and Arsinio Hall talking about it everywhere. There we ads, signs, safe-sex and AIDS awareness shit all over the place. From what Ive gathered, AIDS is at an all time high, with infected populations growing in the 50 plus crowd, the junior high crowd, and everyone in between as well.
THIS ISNT PROPAGANDA!
I WANT TO KNOW WHY I HAVENT SEEN ANYTHING ABOUT AIDS IN THE LAST 5 YEARS!
No television adds! No radio commercials! Nothing in print! Were a nation ruled by fear, and Id think AIDS would do nothing but help promote that cause!
Ive come up with a couple of conspiracy theories about the reasoning for this:
Population control. The world is getting overpopulated and, just like the black plague, could really get the worlds population back in check.
The pharmaceutical industry can only gain from a nation full of AIDS victims. You need medications to treat the effects of other medications. Theres a lot of money to be made from AIDS. WOW THAT COULD BE A CORPORATE SLOGAN!

WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO MUSIC?
Has anyone noticed how un-aggressive music has gotten over the past say, I dont know, 10 years? I may be dating myself, but nirvana hit the commercial scene when I was 12 years old and, at the time, to me, it was just good music. It was raw, pure, honest, and dangerous. Bear in mind I blame Nirvana for the likes of Nickleback and Creed and all the other horse-shit disguising itself as alternative rock "No man, we dont need solos, we just need some POWER CHORDS." And that was Nirvana, really, but Nirvana was a punk band at heart and in practice.
I miss turning on the radio and hearing something that sounds like it could tear the flesh off your cheeks if you listened for too long. Korn made Nu-metal, and every band that followed made nu-metal less and less tragic.
So it goes.
What I cant get enough of, as Ive already mentioned is HARDCORE - broad sense. Like Dillenger Escape Plan, Poison the Well, Nine Inch Nails, and even tool for that matter, I find a kind of calming peace within it. Theres a vulnerability within the mess of sharpened steel and jagged edges like a newborn surrounded by broken glass.

THE FUNNIEST MOVIE SCENES EVER, PERIOD.
I command everyone reading this to g out and watch "ME YOU AND EVERYONE WE KNOW." Its one of those very lovely movies filled with poignant dialogue and beautiful imagery. It also has one of the funniest scenes Ive ever seen in a movie. I was actually crying from laughing so hard. It is up there in the top five "I laughed till my guts hurt" scenes. Others included (in no particular order):
Bruce Almighty when the rival anchor is possessed by Bruce
Bewitched When will Farrell is possessed by Samantha and is looking for his dog
The First time seeing "Team America, World Police" (I laughed so hard my friend had to move away from me

Pretty much all of Young Fankenstein
Laughing is important. And laughing till you cry is even more so. These are all terrific moments in movies. But again I have to return to MYAEWK see it.

WHY SUICIDE GRILS IS MORE PUNK THAN PUNK.
Suicide Girls is a good thing. Its hard to convince most people that a pinup site filled with tattooed and pierced women with little or no clothes on is a positive thing. People hear internet porn and automatically assume the worst which is fair. Theres a lot of nasty, horrible shit that floats about in this sea of information. But Missy Suicide has done something totally punk rock: brought beauty, intelligence, and elegance to the world of cyber erotica. Given its models the human-hood of names, journals, bios, all of which they are responsible for themselves. This is not to say that objectivity does not play a role: lets face it, the girls are beautiful and naked. But in a world of flaccid punk rock ideals, Suicide Girls has taken a double edged attack on society: 1. Challenging Americas taboo conceptions of sexual norms and basically flicking it off, using sexual power as a form of rebellion and empowerment. 2. It dismantles internet pornography and turns it into something real, and is undiluted by pre-conceived notions of what beauty is or what a naked woman on a computer screen is supposed to stand for pr accomplish. Theres been talk of Suicide Boys, and I hope that comes to fuition. Our society is so sex closeted that it only makes sense for it to be locked in it while anarchists destroy the rest of the house.
