So this is it.
Outside of reading my profile here's my jist. I love things that bend familiar things into slightly unsusualy ones. I have a fetish for dark humor and movies. Right now I'm really into Edward Gorey and watching the Triplets of Belleville. The books, Less than Zero and the Rules of Attraction (both by Brett Easton Ellis) stand as some of my all time favorties. I am studying creative writing at a college i settled on. I'm happy, for the most part. And am thrilled about all the cool people I see all over this site.
Why I'm here... several reasons, I guess. Beautiful women, of course. I've always loved beautiful women - and not stricly in the "get me hot" way. Women are beautiful - and social conventions take someone who stares at people for a pervert - but i sure don't think I'm a pervert simply because I take my time in soaking up the beauty of another human being.
What I've found on this site is tons of people who have the same interests, attitudes, and ______. as myself. And though I have a solid group of friends, our basic likes and dislikes have never quite match up. I look forward to spitting out ideas and some of my lyrics and writing
I grew up in St. Paul, and think it's fine. There's a bar called Chang O'Hara's which is just great. Same for Big V's and the Turf Club. E-block makes me nausous. Uptown is overrated and pretentious - however, the cheapo up there is always stocked with awesome used CD's that broke hipsters sell to facilitate coolness. I'm a musician and producer. I've been in all sorts of bands and am always up for collaborating with new people.
Right now I've been heavily influenced by My Bloody Valentine and TV on the Radio - Two bands that the first time i heard them i went out and bought copies for all my close friends. And that is something I really love; sharing music/making music/experiencing it rather than just listening to it. I can't reccomend them enough - this is music that matters. If you have any suggestions, let me know. I love new music/movies/books/etc.
Well, if you've read all this feel free to contact me. I'm just here to hang out and kick some thoughts and words around.
