@rambo and @missy want us to tell you our top 5 favorite songs this week. I'm totally down for this one.
number 5- Street Hassle by Lou Reed. It's over 11 minutes long, has three parts and it sucked me in with the lyrics "hey that cunt's not breathing/ I think she's had too much." This song is everything I needed to listen to alone on Valentine's Day (today).
number 4 - Heartbeats by the Knife. I've loved this for years and I never get sick of listening to it while driving. I do however, get sick of the terrible cover of it that plays often at Sephora. Fuck you, stupid band that sings that cover. I love that they use this for the Burlesque tour!
number 3 - Talk Show Host by Radiohead. "You want me? Fuckin' well come and find me. I'll be waiting, with a gun and a pack of sandwiches." (plus Romeo and Juliet, I'm a girl from the 90s what can I say?)
number 2 - A Better Son/Daughter by Rilo Kiley. Obviously, I had to have a Rilo Kiley song on this list. Last summer when I saw Jenny Lewis at the Wiltern she sang this and I FUCKING CRIED LIKE A BABY. Yep. I couldn't help myself but I was so excited to see this live after a million years of playing this song in the dark and crying like an emo baby. "And sometimes when you're on you're really fuckin on"
number 1 - Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears for Fears. Honestly, I think this pretty much explains how weird I am but this song is magic to me. Makes me want to drive through the mountains of Vermont on a sunny day and feel like I'm in a fucking 80s movie. I am most definitely singing along with this right this moment as I type this. Don't judge me.
