Man what a busy weekend! Friday night My wife and I took our daughter to our old highschool for homecoming. We haven't been in a few years and I tried to get a couple of my buddies to go, but it didn't seem to work out. Although we did run into my wife's cousin, his wife, and her aunt and uncle. Turns out their youngest son was in the homecoming parade dressed as a cheerleader. Quite amusing. We left at 1/2 time and went and had dinner with their oldest son and his wife. We hadn't seen them in bout a year I guess.. work and schedules conflicting.. its sad we hadn't seen them more.
Saturday night we took our daughter to the local farmers market for a "fall festival" they had some kids playing fiddles, and wagon rides, and pony rides, and a small impromptu type petting zoo. It was cute, and Madison enjoyed all the animals. The baby Calves were my favorite.. they were pretty cute! Of course Saturday night was the concert.. It was great. Motley Crue came out and Vince looked good, he has lost some weight and grew his hair back out (so my wife was quick to point out
) But he still only sings about every other lyrical line. The rest of the band rocked. Nikki Sixx was his flamboyant self although downplayed. Tommy Lee was engaging and got the crowd into the show. Even passing out free Jager.. too bad i wasn't in the front rows.
Aerosmith came out and they rocked. Opened with Toys in the Attic, got the night started big time. They played a couple longer songs meaning they elaborated on the solos and such and while thats great sometimes, with an opening band I would have much rather have had them just play more songs. That being said they still kicked ass.
Now if only we could get the SG Burlesque show down here in Va Beach...
