perhaps not the best of puns

she had overripe cherries for eyes
blackish-red and long-stemmed
and when i leaned in as if for a kiss
and instead sank my teeth
into taut skins
i swear they nearly popped in surprise

I'm more worried about the few "bad apples". I know, in general, pagans are accepting (one of the reasons why I became Wiccan), however, I wouldn't want to run across those who are a bit less
