I wonder why it is that I anxietoulsy wait for the day that I'll log on here, and find umpteen dozen comments waiting for me in my journal telling me to shut up and mind my own buisness.

no you dont have to cook them alive, but soon as you kill them the flesh stars to go bad, and you can get a bit sick. boiling them alive head first kills them instantly, but you can also put them in the fridge or freezer first to slow them down so when u do put them in the pot they are sort of half alseep and dont struggle, which is nicer. OR you can stab them in the head, between the eyes. that kills them pretty quick too. but agian you'd have to cook them straight away. of course, this is a lot of work; pinning it down, stabbing it hard enough to get through its head then chucking it in the pot.
