We're getting married next week.
We traded the courthouse wedding for a sunset wedding on the beach in the Virgin Islands. Mydogfarted and I aren't doing a huge thing, but this is going to be perfect for us. Things are coming together very well for it. The dress I made yesterday is what T is going to wear, and I picked up a dress for myself a couple nights ago. The rings arrived this morning. It's starting to seem less surreal.

I'm getting very excited about the wedding. I was married once before and it ended poorly, though we are still friends. I said I wouldn't get married again. I think the biggest difference here is that my previous wedding was about hope for the future, a hope that didn't pan out into reality. This time, the commitment has already been made, our future is secure, this is just a way to show the world that. We aren't the starry-eyed naive lovers of youth, instead our love is more solidified with past experiences, future plans and present love. I am looking forward to growing old with him, and watching our children blossom into the wonderful young women I know they'll be.
