I've been holding off on announcing something amazing because I wasn't sure if mydogfarted wanted me to keep my mouth shut or not. BUT since he already announced it in his blog. I guess it's ok for me to tell you.

We're getting married.
We were trying to get our shit together to get married in Ottawa this coming weekend. Unfortunately there was so much paperwork and bureaucracy that we couldn't get everything in time.
He had the epiphany to research what it would take for us to get married on our vacation. His dad is taking us to the US Virgin Islands mid August. Turns out the restrictions there are MUCH more lax. So rather than a courthouse wedding in Ottawa, we're doing a sunset on the beach wedding on the islands.

I'm very excited. Getting married isn't a huge deal to us, but I do still want something meaningful and romantic if possible, so this is perfect. I get the romance I want and we don't have to deal with... a meddlesome mother-of-the-bride. (I love my mom. Sometimes she just gets in my way though )

Looking forward to the trip up to Canada this weekend.
I miss my family and friends. And it'll be very nice to see RatedPG as happy as I anticipate he'll be. (Though I might have to run interference on HIS meddlesome mother-of-the-bride.)
