so i posted the unedited version of my previous post in my lj (you can page back to see it if you didn't already)....and a girl from highschool that's on my friends list offered me her husband to make me feel better.

i've never had a husband offered to me before. that was a little...weird....

had to decline. but the thought was sweet. =)

The green fuzzy jacket in my pics is care of INSTANTPUDDING. He found it at a thrift store for like $4, and has been bringing it to SG events since then. smile Always good for a few laughs. I was told that I'm the only person who can manage to make a big green fluffy pimp coat look evil. *L*

I LARPed once. Notice the past tense on that. And the singular. Yeah. Precisely. I do pen and paper. I like PnP. It gives me the freedom to roleplay while enjoying the freedom to eat pizza--truly the best of both worlds. Vampires don't eat pizza. They suck.

I never did get the chance to play Talisman, and now that it's out of print and going for hundreds of dollars on the secondary market, I'm probably not gonna get the chance any time soon. Foo. I do like board games, though.

And while I've never indulged in the MMORPGs, I've gotten sucked into all of the Black Isle "Infinity Engine" games. I lost months of my life to the Baldur's Gate games. And Torment. And, more recently, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. But I probably won't be doing much of that anymore since Black Isle went under. Dammit.

And, yeah, you have a Charisma of 4. Riiiiight. Sure. Look, I've got plenty--we can split the difference on mine, if you want. That would give you a Charisma of ... 18. Sounds about right. ,)
lordpyrate:
BOO! THE MINIATURE GIANT SPACE-HAMSTER! That is teh awes0me.

and they reprinted Talisman for limited release.
Don't tell me stuff like that. Now I want it. And I already work in a games store. I already have too much I want to buy. Don't make me start hunting for more.

and i played icewind dale. does that count?
Yeah, it was more of a dungeon crawl than I'm generally into (I like the story-heavy games), but Black Isle did it and I own both of them, so yeah it definitely counts.

you read any of the forgotten realms books?
No, they never really appealed to me. I'm a bit of a snob with my fantasy novels (I like about five of them). I mean, I'm writing a steampunk fairy-tale, but somehow most of the genre does nothing to excite or inspire me. George RR Martin's "Song of Fire and Ice" saga is, however, oneof the best book series I've ever read. Period.

But I bet that even though I haven't read any of the Forgotten Realms books, I've played a few of the modules. ,)

and speaking of books, have you read quicksilver yet from stephenson? i'm on about page 500.
I own it, but it's in storage right now. (I moved cities a couple of months ago and I knew my roommate has a copy so I couldn't quite justify bringing my copy. Though it was one of the last things to get cut from my bags, though.) Cryptonomicon is probably the best-written book I've ever read--his command of the English language in that is stunning, and I was SO stoked for Quicksilver; unfortunately it came out at a point where I couldn't concentrate on it and I haven't really been in the right mindset since to read a dense book about a time period I'm more or less unfamiliar with. This isn't a criticism, though--Stephenson has supplanted all my other favourite authors to take the top slot. No mean feat, that.

And, incidentally, before I read your profile I was peeking at your pictures and saw the folder called "YT" and was going to make a sly Snow Crash comment but I was all, "Chris, you're being obscure again. She's never going to get that reference." But then again, it looks like you would have. ,)

p.s. KotOR looks pretty good, but i've never played it.
I could probably rave unchecked for several paragraphs if I let myself, but I don't think I will; I'll just link here to an article I wrote last month about video games based on movies. It says about all I need to on the subject of getting my life and brains sucked away by a videogame. KotOR sure was a lot of fun, though.

i think i'm sick.

i meant to paint the bathroom this morning, but instead...i'm sick.

i can't tell if it is a sinus infection or strep yet, but both have been going around work for months now.

i don't need to be sick. not now. not like this. =/

i have a 5 day weekend up north planned, and if i have strep, i'm going...

Get some medi's real quick. I let my sinus infection go and it turned into bronchitus as well. Ah, you're a smart girl, you know how to take care of yourself.

Enjoy your trip regardless. Are you going to Portage? It's only about 45 minutes from where I live, plus my one of my brothers still lives there. Love to meet ya.

Take care doll.

the easy stuff is...
