ok. so. as i was half-asleep this morning, herichon sent me an icq. in my half-awake doze, i imagined his message outlining all of the pros and cons of me pursuing my new crush, alex. the conclusion was that once again i was going after a boy who i share limited interests with, who doesn't want a serious relationship, and who won't be sticking around for very long because he's going to japan.
i woke up completely a few minutes later, and started to seriously think about what interests i could share with a boy. with the ex i never really had anything to talk about, and i felt dull and uninteresting. but with other friends, i can talk all day long and never repeat myself. i suppose it's just a matter of finding someone who knows enough about what i like to talk about to keep a conversation going.
so...a list of things i am interested in that i should start looking for in potential boys:
*books--especially ones i haven't read yet or ones i just read so we can discuss and reccommend new reading to each other.
*food/cooking--i love to eat, i love to cook for people, i love to experiment in the kitchen. one of my favorite things to do together is cook dinner and then eat it while watching a new movie.
*foreign/artsy movies--american mainstream movies have to try hard to keep my attention. but i love love love foreign and/or artsy flicks--ones that perhaps don't make it to the cinema down the street. i want a boy who likes subtitles and twisted plots.
*creating, especially with my hands--art, practical things, furniture, gardens, food, massages, house, yard. i like using my hands to make things, be it an object, an idea, a feeling...i want a boy who enjoys creating, who likes working with his hands.
*texture and an interest in beauty in one's surroundings--i want a boy who appreciates the beauty around him, as well as either wanting to create his own beauty or likes my idea of beauty in my home, etc.
*cats.
*science and/or medicine
*travel
*outdoors--whether the yard or camping or a picnic in the park.
i consider that a good start. qualities of the individual: (and really, i should strive to maintain these qualities in myself)
*openess with communication/feelings.
*passion about life, people, love.
*intelligence and the wisdom to put it to use.
*intrinsic balance, yet a broad dynamic of feelings, actions, and emotions.
*high libido
*likes to sleep/nap
*curiosity, the willingness to try new things. aka "have mini-adventures."
*strives to work to live, not live for work.
*someday wants a family, but not anytime soon.
*absolutely 100% drug free, and only a social drinker.
*intuition, empathy, the need to snuggle. (in my mind, they all go together)
*drive, determination, the ability to be right most of the time, the ability to be wrong and accept it with grace.
i think this is a good start. i'll have to revisit occasionally and see where i stand.
p.s. new photos up in YT and Seduction. trust me, they're worth a look.
