Sandcastle was great. It's definitely nice getting together with friends that you don't see very often. Despite not being a huge fan of water rides in general, I'd hafta say that I had a really good time. I even went on a couple of rides that I wasn't entirely comfortable with.
Although this is gonna sound extremely childish, there was one involving a fairly short slide that drops into a pool that's 12' deep. I haven't been swimming in ages (at least five years), so I was quite nervous about it. I'm really not a very strong swimmer anymore, since I really don't find the time or desire to go swimming. Hey, I guess the important thing is that I made it to the freaking ladder on my own.
Anyway, the second ride that I was a bit nervous about was a slide with a huge near-vertical section that actually lifts you off of the slide a bit. And it's quite rough, as well. It gave me a monster wedgie. Not comfortable at all.
To make matters worse, I'd eaten only minutes before going on both of these rides in succession. My stomach was fairly upset, mainly because the 12' pool was making me a bit nervous. I've never had a traumatic water-related experience, but the thought of drowning just scares the living shit outta me.
In either case, I had a great birthday. Thanks for the birthday wishes that I did receive from other SG members. It's nice to see that somebody pays my profile a visit every now and then.
