Well, it seems that my immediate supervisor is displeased with my performance as of late. Apparently, I don't finish what I'm assigned to do much of the time. I pointed out that I'm typically assigned to several tasks at any given time.
A typical scenario: I'm approximately 85% finished with a task that Manager A had given me at the end of the previous work day, when Manager B assigns to me another task that typically cannot be refused. Thus, I immediately start on the second task. I'm not even 10 minutes into that task when Manager C comes along and gives me yet another task, also of great importance.
And that isn't even including the fact that I'm expected to deal with customers and trivial requests from co-workers who can't seem to do things on their own. Needless to say, I spend much of my work day juggling at least three tasks at any given time.
You see what I'm getting at, don't you?
Anyway, it was funny when I explained this to my immediate supervisor, because he then asked who was interrupting my work like this. I told him that everyone was, and that even he had done it on several occasions.
His response? "Oh."
Funnier still is the fact that this entire conversation took place only because I'd previously been offered another possible job position within the store. Wouldn't it make more sense to bring this up before he put in a good word for me?
